- "Calli" Bitless Leather Hackamore Bridle
Product Description
The Ultimate Comfort of Bitless--& the Cadillac of Hackamores!
Natural horsemanship and bitless riding go hand in hand. Natural Horsemanship is based on the horse’s own natural instincts & behaviors, and focuses on a pain-free, fear-free method of teaching & working with horses. Because the bit can (and often does) cause pain, it is a contradictory method of natural horsemanship. Of course not all bits are created equal, just as not all people hurt their horses with them (at least, not intentionally), but even just the presence of the bit in the mouth can affect the horse both physically and mentally.
Bitless bridles offer a refreshing new way of communicating with your horse where they are consistently more comfortable, calm, and willing to learn. The Freedom Riding Articles line of bitless bridles are extremely high quality and a refreshing alternative to the typical bitless bridles currently available on the North American market.

Versatile Bridle
Posted by Unknown on 2025 Feb 23rd
What I like most is that I can change the hackamore type, from short shank to long shank with this bridle. I have a selle français 16.3 h mare and the full size fits her well. There are buckles for adjustability.
The bridle is easy to put on and remove. I’ve conditioned the leather and with use it will soften even more. -
Versatile hackamore bridle

Lea helped with the measurements and I purchased the full size for my 16.3 h selle français mare.
The fit is perfect with adjustable holes if needed.
What I really like is that the hackamore hardware is interchangeable. It has a simple yet effective design. I have a long shaft hackamore hardware that fits this bridle. My horse is used to the longer shank, but I will be riding in the shorter shank shortly.
From the moment the bridle was on, my horse lowered her head, all relaxed. She is a sensitive, hot horse and new equipment “worries” her, but this was not the case with this bridle.
So given that my horse is happy…I am happy. -
Beautiful bitless bridle

I love this bitless bridle. It is an exceptionally gorgeous and high quality piece of tack. Beautiful fit and I really like how the short hackamore functions. My mare goes well in it with minimal transition between it and snaffle bit.

Wonderful, wonderful bridle!

I struggled for two years to find the right bit or bridle for my horse who has TMJ issues and a sensitive pole. He was going well in a short shanked hackamore, however it had required alterations to fit a WB and unfortunately broke during a ride. Next, he went quite well for quite some time in a level 2 Myler. But there were still some rides were he had some issues with his jaw and was fussy. Next, we tried the Myler with a Rambo Micklem for extra support and comfort. This was better, but not quite there yet. Then my coach found the Calli when Lea was out for saddle fitting. We were able to try the bridle on which was great and I placed an order a short time later. From the first ride, my horse was more relaxed. Since using the Calli, he has not needed any treatments from his chiropractor and is happily going around on the bridle all by himself. My horse holds his stress/ tension in his head and the Calli is a great option to alleviate that for him. He is going great both on the flat and over fences in comfort, which is all I could hope for. This bridle is beautiful in design, anatomically shaped for the horse's comfort, made from lovely European leather and so simple for tacking/ untacking. I would highly recommend this bridle. Thanks again Lea :)
